THOMSON is the leading provider of technology and service solutions for integrated entertainment and media companies. By capitalizing on and expanding its leadership positions at the intersection of entertainment, media and technology, THOMSON provides end-to-end solutions to content creators, video network operators and manufacturers and retailers through its Technicolor, Grass Valley, THOMSON and RCA brands.

THOMSON Silicon Components (TSC) designs integrated circuits for professional video and consumer audio and video. TSC(http://www.thomson.net/EN/Home/Technology/technology_solutions/silicon_components.htm) participate to the project through one of its design center: Rennes (France) design centre, which is part of THOMSON R&D France, has expertise in video compression, and has designed circuits for professional video and flat panel displays also. THOMSON R&D France is one of the three major Corporate Research Centers of the THOMSON Technology Group organization, and is also the European Development Centre for Digital Consumer products. The centre masters the technologies of the whole audio- video chain, from the studio to the consumer’s TV screen. It is in Rennes that the future generations of, not only, consumer electronics products (digital decoders, user interfaces, home networks…) primarily for the European market are conceived and developed.

In hArtes, TSC brings its expertise in system-level design, from the initial capture of video specific algorithms, their transformations into innovative architectures, down to concrete VLSI architectures.
